Double time~Daily dose and Blogtember Challenge

Waaaayy too much to do today!  We went to Alexis' soccer game at 8:30.  Then at 8:45 I took Taya to her soccer game from 9-10. After that we all went home for a few minutes..then I took Gage to his game from 11-12 (which I had to fill-in for the coach..even though I've never played a day of soccer)!!  Cory dropped Taya off at a party from 11-1 then he took Haylee to her game from 11:30-12:15.  Right after Gage's game I dropped him off at his party.  Then Alexis had a party from 2-4 and after we went to the Harvest Moon Festival.  Oh wow!!!  Saturdays are usually busier because Haylee and Alexis have dance from 9-10, Taya from 10-11, and Gage from 11-12 but they didn't go today because the games were too in the way...last week they did..boy oh boy!! 

 

I am SO proud of this kid!  He and Taya got the birthday party invitation a week ago and they have been excited ever since!  On Thursday I told him the times were overlapping for the party and his game.  I asked him to decide what he wanted to do.  He was sad, but he said he would go to his game because his team was counting on him..even though he wanted to go to the party!  What a guy!  I love him and am proud!!

 Off to her party!!!  She was SOOOO excited!!

 But..it didn't last long.  She was too scared to go by herself..even though she plays with these neighbor friends all the time!

 So I went with her...Check out this adorable pirate girl!!!

 Afterwards we were headed to the fun..but we got caught up in some fun at home!!!

 Okay...it was actually a huge bust!  We were on our way out when Alexis begged us to sit and listen to the music for "just a minute!"  The other kids didn't want to but we did anyway..and stayed for hours!  They ended up loving the music and it was so much fun!!

We LOVE Casper at our house.  We have TONS of VHS tapes and used to have a VCR..but it crapped out on us..so we have missed our movies!  I found Casper on DVD for only $4 so I grabbed it up and we watched it!  Yeah!!!!!

 Aaaannd...a late night trip to the worst place on earth so I don't have to go to the store on
Sunday! :(

 We had a family sleepover/campout in the living room!  I love these nights!!! (and I love that they are all curled up in our big t-shirts)!!

 Life gets oh-so busy.  Some days it's non-stop go, like our Thursdays and Saturdays.  Some days it's the mundane every-day stuff that just needs to get done.  Either way..it's busy!!!  My challenge to myself has been to get through the business of life but not to forget to laugh while doing so. 
I still want to enjoy life..not just endure it!

Blogtember Challenge~My advice to every person in the whole world....



Sept 19th: If you could give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would it be?

 

I really could think of quite a few things to say to this.  I could go on and on about each one too, I'm sure!  But throughout my life, I've seemed to believe in six words, and I believe that every single person in the world should follow them!

 

LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH NO REGRETS!!! 

 

Say what?  How does that work?  Is that possible?  YES!!  Granted I am only 29 and (hopefully) still have a lot of years ahead of me.  But, if I don't have any regrets from the last nearly 30 years, I won't in the next 30, or the 30 after that! 

Does this mean I enjoy or agree with every choice I've ever made?  Not~even~in~the~slightest!

 

I dated people who hurt me, badly, deeply at the time.

 

I stood by friends who really were "friends."

 

I got mediocre grades when I should have had straight A's.

 

I gave up on opportunities in my life because I was worried about other people.

 

I made poor choices in regards to my actions.

 

I kissed a boy I shouldn't have.

 

I spent too much time focusing on other things, rather than my college education.

 

I was way too nice to someone who didn't deserve it.

 

The list could be go on.  I have many things I am not proud of or that really hurt my feel-goods.  Many.  But I wouldn't go back and change them.  Nope, not really. 

 

Well..except one..maybe..

 

One of the most important people in my life passed away, by his own accord.  A good friend of mine, a mutual friend, called me to give me the news and inform me of the funeral.  I didn't answer.  This girl has been a best friend of mine since we were in 5th grade.  I knew if I was going to answer her phone call that I needed to have a while to chat.  I had four kids under 15 months.  I didn't have the time.  I told myself I'd call her later.  I forgot.  Three weeks passed and I finally called her back.  She broke the news.  I was devastated!  Heck, I am STILL devastated!  I missed his funeral because I didn't pick up the phone!  WHAT?!?!  Not okay!  I sit here and tell you, If I could go back, I would attend his funeral.  I would be there to show love and support this this amazing human being!  But, I can't, and I wasn't.  But guess what~I don't regret that because I learned something from it.  I answer phone calls and I return phone calls.  When I feel so inspired to call or check on someone, by phone, text, email, letter, visit, whatever, I do it.  I may have missed the opportunity for some closure by going to his funeral.  But by doing so, I may have helped someone when they needed it because of what I learned because of this experience. 



 There are other things we can regret other than the bad moments in life. 

Don't miss out on those simple, sweet, loving moments in life because we are too busy. The good we should have done, but didn't. The heartbreaking things we went through, whether by our own choice or the choices of others.  Whichever it is~no regrets.

I've always believed that "everything happens for a reason" and I still believe it. 

 (and just for extra~I'll give you, what I consider to be the most important piece of advice I've ever directly received.  "Put God first.  Then your studies.  Then your social life.  If you do that, everything will fall into place!")

Blog tember Challenge~Our first "big" family vacation!

Oh how I've really missed my Blog tember posts!!!  I've enjoyed the challenges of some of the writings and I've missed reading them from all the other awesome bloggers that are participating!  I am excited to get back in it (and even though the point was to post a day..I'm going to go back and do the ones I missed..because..well..some of them I wanted to share on..and others..I didn't..which means I need to step out and do it)!! 

"Sept 18th: Tell a tale of traveling, a city or country you've been to or a favorite vacation."

I have SO many countries and American cities on my traveling bucket list.  I was even planning to attend a semester abroad while in college....then I met my man and got married!  We didn't get a chance to travel much because of how quickly our kids joined our family!  So..even though I wanted to visit most of these places before I was 30, it isn't happening!  SO I will share with you our first major family vacation!  Now, we have done something every summer, and for our "family anniversary" but those have been little weekend "stay-cations" in the surrounding cities.  This was our first BIG one..and it was a SURPRISE for the kids!!!! 

Even though we tried to plan in advance..my husband is just NOT a planner and always wanted to put it off.  But eventually, after the plan changes and the hotels we wanted being booked we finally set it all in motion.  We reserved the hotel and bought the tickets.  No going back now!!!  We had a LOT of fun planning this and keeping it from the kids!!!  We actually needed to come up with a story for the kids though since we were going to Boise for a night then getting back in the car...and NOT going home!  So..they knew we were going to California to spend time on the beach.  That's what we told them and they were excited about it. 

The next morning we woke up the kids still had no clue..so we had them close their eyes, and laid their surprises on their laps.  (We got each of them a character beach towel and sunglasses) Then we told them that, yes we were here to go to the beach, but we were here for something else too.  We had them open their eyes and guess. Taya immediately knew and yelled, "DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I could tell this story in detail from the moment we woke up to the moment we went to sleep every single day.  But I'll spare you my journal and let the pictures speak for themselves!!!  But don't worry, I won't overload with pics either..just some of our favorites! :D

 On our way out we happened to walk by just as they were going to start Playhouse Disney.  No line, right in, totally awesome for the kiddos!

The Arial ride was a favorite too.  Super cute!

 We all loved the Toy Story ride.  Lots and lots of fun!!! 

 This little babe got to meet her favorite in the whole world too!!!!!

 We had a night where we split up.  The boys went and did all the scary rides and coasters while we met Pluto and rode some of our favorite, more calm rides! :D

 After three days at the "Happiest place on Earth" we went to the beach!  (see..no lies..we totally did go to California to spend time at the beach!! :D )

 After, sadly only one day and the kids begging for more beach, we headed to visit cousins and family.  Super fun!! 

 And we were lucky enough to get to meet...and ride..the horses!!! 

 SUCH a fabulously fun and family filled vacation!!  We all had a blast and can't wait for our adventure next summer~Florida here we come!!!!!
